The 38th Amendment IMDG Code is authorized for use as of January 1, 2017. IMDG training is mandatory if the required function-specific training differs from 49CFR, 172.704(2)(ii). Many companies elect to follow the guidelines as established by the Department of Transportation: initial training to be received within 90 days of employment/change of job function and recurrent training every 3 years.
